CURRENT SERMON SERIES:
The Gospel of John: That You May Believe

If forced to describe John’s gospel in two words, the words that may best describe it are simple and profound. John’s simplicity has its own unique profundity.

Near the book's end, John gives the reader his purpose statement, “Now Jesus did many other signs in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book; but these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name” (John 20:30-31). It doesn’t get much simpler than that. John’s earnest desire was for his readers to believe on Jesus Christ as the Son of God and Savior of sinners.

And yet, it is within the space of this simple book that we find some of the loftiest attestations to the person and work of Jesus Christ. He is the Bread of Life, the Light of the World, the Good Shepherd, and the Resurrection and the Life. Indeed, we will be meditating on these precious truths long after our Savior returns and we are joined with him in glory. We invite you to come and to wade into these deep, beautiful truths of the gospel with us at Westminster on Sunday morning. Come and see the Christ, the Son of God, with us.
