Galatians, The Way of Faith
During his earthly ministry, Jesus was asked by the rich young ruler, “Good Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?" His answer was quite challenging. Christ told the young man to sell everything he had, to give it to the poor, and to follow him. Though much could be said, if we boil Christ’s command down to its simplest parts, he was effectively saying, “Stop putting your faith in these futile things and put your faith in me instead.” That is the way of faith. Man must turn from himself, his possessions, from all the works of his hands, and turn to another for his salvation. Man must turn to Christ and believe on him. And it is this same way of faith that is so ably expounded for us in the book of Galatians. Paul tells us that faith must be in Christ and this faith causes us to look like Christ. Salvation, from beginning to end is all of Jesus. As the hymn, Rock of Ages, says, “Nothing in my hand I bring, simply to thy cross I cling.” Please join us on Sunday mornings as we worship the Author of our salvation together!
