WPC Members Assemble Benevolence Bags for the Homeless

After a collection drive over several months, members of Westminster Presbyterian Church (WPC) assembled and packed items into nearly 200 “benevolence bags” that will be distributed to the homeless. The bags contain items such as bottled water, protein bars, numerous toiletries, gift cards for food, and a spiritual message of hope from the church. Members will keep a bag or two in their car and when they come across a homeless person, they will offer a bag.

The drive is held annually by WPC and was coordinated this year by Bette Jadwin and Jonah Hallahan.

In a ceremony held on Sunday, June 2, 2019, Stephen Spinnenweber was ordained and installed as pastor of Westminster Presbyterian Church (WPC). Commissioners who conducted the ordination and installation included WPC’s elders, local pastors Rev. Tommy Park, Rev. Joshua Hinson, Rev. Jesse Pickett, and the President of Greenville Presbyterian Theological Seminary, Rev. Joseph Pipa, Jr.

Stephen was elected by the congregation to serve as the church’s new pastor earlier this year following his nomination by the Pulpit Search Committee. He earned his Master of Divinity from Greenville Presbyterian Theological Seminary in May and is licensed by the North Florida Presbytery, Presbyterian Church in America.

Stephen and his wife Sarah have one son, Reid, and are expecting their second child, a daughter, this month.

We are very excited about our new pastor and invite you to visit us soon as Stephen delivers the Word of the Lord.
